Written Pattern Instructions

Centre Square:

Chain 28, close the ring with a slip stitch.
Chain 3, work 1 treble crochet (tr) or double crochet (dc) in the next stitch. Corner: (4 tr/dc in 1 chain stitch; to prevent a hole, pick up 2 loops of the chain stitch instead of one).
Continue with 6 tr/dc, then another corner, followed by 6 tr/dc, another corner, 6 tr/dc, and one final corner.
Finish with 4 tr/dc, and slip stitch in the third chain.

Oval (Make 2):

Chain 36, work treble crochet (tr) or double crochet (dc) in the 4th chain stitch from the hook.
Continue with 1 tr/dc in the next stitch, followed by a corner (4 tr/dc in 1 chain stitch).
Work 16 tr/dc, followed by another corner.
Work 14 tr/dc, and finish with a slip stitch.

Tip: Sometimes different colors, even from the same brand, give different results. Check if the sides have the correct length. You may need to shorten the sides of the ovals.

Assembly

Weaving the Parts: Once all parts are completed, it’s time to weave them together. Follow the sequence shown in the photos.

First, weave the two ovals through the center square.
Make sure to position them according to the pattern’s guide.

Fastening and Weaving in Ends: Secure the ends using a yarn needle, and weave in any loose ends to give your piece a clean finish.

Troubleshooting

  • If the ovals seem too long, reduce the treble/double crochet by 2 stitches.
  • If the oval sides are uneven, adjust by doing 1 less tr/dc on both sides.
