Pattern Instructions

Motif Pattern

With Flower Shade: Chain 4, join to form a ring. Chain 3, make 3 double crochet (dc) in the ring, slip loop off hook, insert hook in the 3rd stitch of the chain 3 and pull loop through.

(Popcorn Stitch): * Chain 3, 4 dc in ring, slip loop off hook, insert in first dc and pull loop through, repeat from * twice. Chain 3, join in first popcorn stitch.

2nd Row: In the next loop, work 1 single crochet (sc), 4 dc, 1 sc. Repeat from beginning 3 times.

3rd Row: Chain 4, working in back of petals over the 1st row, sc in lower center edge of petal, chain 4, sc between petals. Repeat from beginning all around (8 loops).

4th Row: Over each loop, work 1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc. Cut yarn.

5th Row: Attach Pink and work 1 sc in each stitch of each petal. Cut yarn.

6th Row: Attach Green in sc of 3rd row in back of petal, * chain 7, sc in 2nd stitch from hook, 1 semi-double crochet (sdc) in each of the next 2 stitches (sdc: yarn over hook, insert in stitch, pull through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), 1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches, sc in next sc in 3rd row between petals. Assembly

Sew motifs together and work the following border: With Black starting at corner, chain 4, dc in same space, * chain 1, dc in same space. Repeat from * twice, ** skip 2 sc, dc in next sc, * chain 1, dc in same space. Repeat from * twice and repeat from ** to corner sc. Work a 5 dc shell in corner and continue all around.

Pillow Instructions

Work 6 motifs.
Sew 2 x 3 motifs together.
Finish with edge same as afghan.
