Stripes & More Bobbles
Rounds 12–14: Alternate stripes with chosen colors (example: green, yellow, blue).
Round 15: Repeat a bobble row (different color for bobbles).
Continue alternating stripes and bobble rows until the body measures about 12–14 inches long.
Fasten off, leaving the bottom opening for pulling out bags.
Beak
With yellow or orange yarn:
Row 1: Ch 5.
Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (4 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, sc2tog. (2 sc)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog. (1 sc)
Fasten off. Lightly stuff and sew onto the front opening.
Eyes
Comb
With red yarn:
Row 1: Ch 7.
Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (6 sc)
Row 3: Ch 3, sl st in next st. Rep across to form scallops.
Fasten off and sew to the top of the head.
Wattles
Make 2 with red yarn:
Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc in ring. Join.
Round 2: 2 sc in each st. Join. (12 sc)
Fasten off, stuff lightly, and sew under the beak.
Hanging Loop
Ch 30, sl st to form a loop. Attach securely to the top of the chicken.
