Continuing the Pattern
For all subsequent rounds, continue in the same manner:
Work two dc clusters into each corner, with a ch 1 in between them.
Work 1 dc cluster into each space between the clusters from the previous round.
Changing Colors
When it’s time to change colors:
Cut your current yarn and weave in the ends.
Join your new color in any ch 1 space.
Continue the pattern with the new color.

Finishing with a Border
Round 1: Hdc around the entire blanket, working 3 hdc into each corner stitch. Cut yarn and weave in the ends.
Round 2: For a picot edging, join white yarn using a slip stitch. Sc in the next five stitches, ch 3, hdc in the first chain around. Aim to have a picot in each corner, adjusting the stitches between picots as needed.
This granny square blanket, measuring approximately 18 inches square, can easily be expanded to a full-sized blanket by continuing the pattern. The combination of calming teal and gray makes it a perfect choice for a baby blanket or a cozy throw.
